This is such a great place to stop in for lunch when you’re shopping at the Village. We did and it was such a treat. Our server was so helpful identifying vegetarian dishes that could be made vegan. We ended up with the Vegetable pakora, samosa, and roti to start and Chana masala and Aloo Cauli Ko Tarkari as main dishes. Everything was fantastic but the pakora was legitimately the best we’ve ever had, it was so fresh and packed full of flavor, we should have gotten two orders of that. Everything was very reasonably priced and the atmosphere was perfect for a lovely little lunch with my partner. This is one of my new favorite restaurants in Carlsbad!

Not a lot is open late for food in Carlsbad so we stumbled upon this spot and could not have lucked out more! The food was incredible but the staff made the experience even better. Everything was served quickly and adjusted to each of our spice levels. I was with my vegan girlfriend and everything was clearly pointed out to her on the menu. The waitress also asked if she could put us on their Instagram stories and it was so fun to see they capture everyone. I couldn’t recommend more!

While on spring break, my son and I stopped by Taste of the Himalayas, located in a charming shared village setting in Carlsbad. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the host and seated right away. The environment was very family-friendly, with both indoor and outdoor seating available (outdoor spaces were cozy with nearby heaters, perfect for the 65 weather). I ordered the tandoori chicken while my son went with his go-to, chicken tikka masala. We also enjoyed a chai tea and his favorite, a mango lassi, which didn’t disappoint! The flavors were rich, comforting, and clearly made with care. We appreciated being able to pay with cash, and the overall experience was spontaneous yet memorable. Thank you to the staff for your wonderful hospitality and for sharing such a beautiful culture through your food and service.

The best food we tried in our California trip. Each and every dish was so delicious. They also made spice levels as per our recommendation. We ordered Veg Momos , Chicken Momos, Veg Biryani, Kadhai Paneer, Roti, Shrimp Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Mango lassi & veg samosa. All dishes were equally yummy and tasty. We ate all food and forgot to take photos Service was excellent, Himani and Tutu both are really sweet.

The food was absolutely delicious with decent portion sizes at a reasonable price. My friend and I shared a lunch menu item and still had leftovers to take home. The establishment is clean and well decorated. The staff was top tier service that I haven’t received at a restaurant in a long time. They were happy to have us in and helped with some menu questions and recommendations. Even saved us some money by upgrading or naan instead of getting two (comes with the lunch specials). So glad we stopped in to eat here while visiting from Las Vegas!

Probably now my favorite restaurant and cuisine. The staff is personable with great food recommendations. I visited 4x during my week long stay. Tried 8 dishes and was not disappointed whatsoever! Tutu and her colleagues are intentional with service and the hospitality is definitely received. I’ve been obsessed with authentic Thai food for a decade, and now will be considering Himalayan cuisine as my favorite... Will mark this restaurant on my favorites! Kudos
